TCK Publishing accepts nonfiction book proposal submissions from authors with or without a literary agent. 

We only accept submissions for original works. All manuscripts are run through advanced plagiarism checking software to certify originality.

We are not a vanity or subsidy publisher (that means we don’t charge fees to publish books).

Nonfiction Submission Guidelines

We publish nonfiction books in all major markets if they meet the following guidelines:

• You must submit a book proposal (we do not accept manuscript submissions without a book proposal. You can see our book proposal template)
• Your book must be original.
• Your book must educate readers, solve a particular problem, provide proven solutions, or offer unique and fresh insights for readers.
• We do not accept submissions that promote hatred, divisiveness, or an “us vs. them” mentality.
• We accept simultaneous submissions and submissions from authors with or without literary agents.

We accept all nonfiction book proposals that meet the above guidelines. We get especially excited about publishing nonfiction books in the following markets:

TCK Publishing is currently closed to fiction submissions.

Here are the answers to some of the most common questions about submitting manuscripts to TCK Publishing.

Do you accept unsolicited submissions?

Yes, we welcome unsolicited book proposal submissions for nonfiction.

Can I submit a manuscript or book proposal if I don’t live in the United States?

Yes, we welcome submissions from all authors regardless of where you live.

How long does it take to review a submission?

We review all submissions and send the author a yes or no email within 14-21 days.

What if I don’t have an agent?

No problem! Most of our submissions are from unagented authors, although we do accept submissions from literary agents.

Can I submit multiple book proposals at once?

No.

Our editors request that you only submit one proposal for review at a time, regardless of how many you have written. If our editors decide to publish your manuscript, we can then have a conversation with you about potentially publishing other books you’ve written.

Can I submit a book series?

Yes! If you would like us to consider publishing a series for you, please only submit the first book in the series.

We can’t consider publishing additional books in a series without us also publishing the first book in the series, so please only submit the first book in the series.

How much does it cost?

We’re a no-fee independent book publishing company. That means we never charge a fee to publish books. We earn our profit when we sell books for you, and we pay you royalties for every copy we sell.

Do you guarantee you will publish my book?

No.

Even if you meet all the guidelines on this page, we review all submitted manuscripts and decide on a case-by-case basis if it makes sense for us to offer a publishing deal to the author.

In the last year, we acquired less than 1% of manuscript submissions.

To increase your chances of your book being accepted, we highly recommend you read our blog post on why nonfiction publishers reject manuscripts and why novels get rejected and use those tips as a guide so you can polish your submission before clicking “send.”

How much can I earn with TCK Publishing?

At TCK Publishing, we believe in creating long-term partnerships that are good for everyone. That’s why we pay 50% gross royalties, so our authors earn 3-6 times the amount of royalties they would with a typical traditional publisher. Our goal is to help authors earn a full-time income from book sales.

Do you accept physical submissions?

No, we do not review any physical manuscripts. We strive to be as environmentally friendly as possible, so we humbly request that you only submit digital manuscripts for review using the forms provided on this page.

How should my book proposal be formatted?

We don’t require any special formatting for submissions, as long as the text is easily readable by our editors. If you’re not sure what to do, you can follow these guidelines: “Use a serifed font such as Times New Roman at 12 point, with 1.5 line spacing. Use an 8.5” x 11” document with one-inch margins all around.”
