E-mail marketing is considered one of the secret weapons of successful online businesses. You can use your e-mail list to send regular updates to add value to your potential customers, and then access this ower of direct communication to win possible sales.
If you’re just starting off, you may survive with manually creating and sending e-mails. But as your business grows, automating it can save you a lot of work. This is where mailing tools like MailerLite come in.
What is MailerLite?
MailerLite is one of the more affordable options in e-mail marketing software. Founded in 2005, it has grown to impact more than 800,000 companies every month. In this post, we will look at some of its most important features and benefits so you can decide if it’s a good fit for your needs.
Top Benefits of MailerLite
Here are some of the most important features and benefits you can expect from MailerLite:
Automated email marketing
One of the best features of MailerLite is that you can manually create your newsletters on it, but you can also use RSS for automatically sending excerpts from your blog. Not only do you get to automate your e-mail sending, it also lets you automate a whole flow of e-mails, creaing a full-blown onboarding process.
What does this mean for you? Simply this: you can set up the whole process and whenever new customers sign up, they get the full onboarding process from start to finish. This customized flow will take them from the very beginning steps right up to your goal of possibly getting them to make a purchase.
Split testing
MailerLite lets you test subject lines using its email campaign optimization tool with A/B split testing. This means that you can experiment with different subject lines and see which ones result in the most engagement, so you can grow in your copywriting skills along the way!
Audience growing capability
MailerLite also lets you create targeted pop-up forms so you can keep on building your e-mail database and subscriber list. It also lets you create landing pages for your websites, as well as mini-sites. The good thing about its landing page builder is that it’s completely drag and drop, so it’s very intuitive and easy to use.
And, the larger your e-mail list, the greater the chances of reaching someone who will be in dire need of your product or services!
Organize your subscribers
Do you know that e-mail marketing can be even more effective when you deliver the most relevant content to the people who need it? MailerLite recognizes this and lets you organize your subscribers by your chosen filter. This may be by country, age, or gender, or even their response to your previous e-mails.
With this feature, you can target your audience in a more relevant way, increasing your chances of making a sale.
Challenges to MailerLite
Let’s take a look on some of the challenges to using MailerLite:
Lack of full reporting and other pro features
Although MailerLite seems to have it all, you still miss out on some features like full reporting and CRM features. Still, for basic e-mail marketing, it seems to be a good enough option.
Free version lacks templates
MailerLite comes in a free version as well as different paid plans. The free version is a great way to get your feet wet and see if it’s something you can make good use of. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to try the templates unless you go for the paid versions.
English-only for the new version
The good thing with MailerLite is that they’re constantly improving. The downside is that the latest product design is currently only available in English. If English is your main business language, this should be no problem. Otherwise, it may be a deal-breaker.
MailerLite Pricing Plans
At the time of this writing, the MailerLite Advanced Plan starts at $19 per month for up to 1,000 subscribers. It lets you send an unlimited number of monthly e-mails and have an unlimited number of users, and you can even try it for free for 30 days.
The Growing Business plan starts at $9 a month for up to 1,000 subscribers. It also lets you send an unlimited number of monthly emails, but only up to 3 users.
The Free plan lets you send up to 12,000 monthly e-mails to a maximum of 1,000 subscribers and only one user.
What is MailerLite best for?
Based on its features and benefits, we believe that MailerLite is best suited for small business owners. Its pricing plans are a good fit for a relatively low budget while still delivering a powerful punch with its automation tools.
If you’re a blogger, MailerLite’s capabilities for RSS campaigns and integration with WordPress are also a great value. You can maximize these capabilities by interconnecting your content creation with e-mail marketing.
Another plus is that it works best for beginners, thanks to its simple, easy-to-use interface and intuitive navigation. They even offer MailerLite Academy, full of courses to help you get started from the ground up.
What are the limitations of MailerLite?
On the other hand, if you’re the type of e-commerce geek looking for all sorts of comprehensive reporting, you may not find what you’re looking for in MailerLite. Standard reports are available, and you can purchase additional tracking for WooCommerce and Shopify. But social tracking tools aren’t available yet, so do take a good look at the kind of reporting you’re looking for.
As for automations, MailerLite is a great tool for making fully-automated onbaording workflows. However, note that this typically works for only a given set of triggers, such as when a new person subscribes or joins a group. It still does not have the capacity for an unlimited number of triggers.
Is MailerLite worth it?
Overall, we would recommend MailerLite for a beginner in e-mail marketing, thanks to its intuitive platform and drag and drop builder. Or, it may even work for someone seasoned who doesn’t require too much reporting.
For a basic e-mail marketing software, we believe that the price is worth all that it offers, so do take a closer look!
