Writing about one’s faith and spirituality can be quite daunting. But there is still someone out there willing to give you a helping hand.
Our team put together this list of Christian book agents that represents Christian novels, Christian nonfiction, inspirational books, and spiritual books.
List of Christian Book Agents
We highly recommend you to read our full guide to finding a literary agent and make sure you do your research before writing a query letter or contacting any literary agents.
Also, although we have listed several agents for some of the same agencies, make sure you pick out the agent that best matches your project: it’s considered bad manners in the literary world to send queries to more than one agent in a given agency, so steer clear of this taboo!
Here’s our list of 43 Christian book agents who can help you get your book published.

My manuscript is based on English=74 Gematria=74 that is focused on the Jewish=74
MESSIAH=74 JESUS=74, The King=74 and Ruler=74 Forever=74!!! His Death=74
Atones=74 and The Damned=74 Kill Him=74. Our CREATOR provided a math code into the English language that most people are completely oblivious to. The letters of the English alphabet are numbered: A=1, B=2, C=3 and X=24, Y=25 and Z=26.
America=50 (as in 50 states) and Jesus=74 rode on a donkey=74 / burro=74. Zechariah 9:9 / Matthew 21:2 / Luke 19:29-38 / John 12:14-15.
The initial reaction of everyone who has seen my manuscript is always “WOW!!!”
I am looking for a truly born-again, filled with the HOLY SPIRIT literary agent. My manuscript may be found in my website, Thywordistruthministries.com. The name of my project is THE JESUS CHRIST 151 MANIFESTO. Atheists become believers within minutes of viewing the first few pages. I wish to move quickly on this project, as I had planned to have been published by last month, May 17. I have already had a disappointing experience with a reputable “Christian publisher” who dropped the ball miserably. Having played sports on state championship basketball teams when I was younger, I am now on the best team of all and my book is going to change the lives of potential millions!!! There is no book like THE JESUS CHRIST 151 MANIFESTO. Come and see. An unworthy servant to a WORTHY SAVIOR…
Hi Arthur, I”m sorry you’ve had a disappointing publishing experience, but I’m glad you found a new team to bring your book to the world! Best of luck :)
I wrote my manuscript and submitted to agents. Thinking about changing beginning which would also change story at many places and would change to a better name. But would like to speak to someone that would traditional publish if I put in the extra work on the story.
Hi Linda, you can definitely discuss this with your agent, and they can help you find the right traditional publisher :) We also have a list of Christian publishers here for reference.
I have finished a book on decision making and I need an agent for it. Is it possible to be led to a right agent?
Hi Simon, thanks for your comment! I don’t really know enough about each individual agent to make a specific recommendation, but if it’s a Christian book, I would focus on those from this list that specialize in nonfiction/self-help. If it’s more general, you can check out these self-help publishers.
I am working on three manuscripts, one on church finance, the second is on entrepreneurship from biblical perspective, and the third is a compedium of biblical essays.I need a publisher.
Hi. I have a completed a book on Christian leadership. Looking through your list, I don’t even start to get an idea which kind of agent would be interested in my kind of book.
Hi Muniu, if any say that they are interested in Christian nonfiction or self-help/improvement, I would start with those!
I am looking for an agent for a short, but motivating book on how your life can change
TODAY, by turning your focus off of yourself and opening your eyes to others. The
practical, fun, and life-changing habits will fill you and get you excited to wake up to
start a new day!
Thanks for sharing about your book, Annette! I’m sure there’s a good match for it on here. I would look at the ones interested in motivational/self-help Christian nonfiction.
I had self published two books: Qur’an Bible Study Commentary that reviewed the completed Qur’an and compared the doctrines with that of the bible. Mt second self published book is Buddha and the Man on the Cross, which is self explanatory. I am almost finished my third, which is Hinduism and the Man on the Cross, that explored the writings of the Vedic Sanskrit writings, Mahabharata, Ramayana, Upanishad, Bhagavad Gita and the Puranas and compared the Character of the major Hindu deities with that of the God of the Christian Bible as well as the doctrines. Discovered the source of yogic meditation and posture, which is a serpentine posture. So I am looking for a publisher for this third book. It is almost done with 5 years of research work into Hinduism.
Hi Norman, thanks for sharing about your books! You might find some suitable publishers on this list, but I’ll work on creating a list of more publishers that are interested in spiritual books, not just ones with a Christian focus.
Hi Kaelyn, I have written a short book focused upon the phrase used 365 times in the Bible, “Do Not Be Afraid”, that presents scriptural references to support a simple argument that needs re-stating today – God loves us more than we can imagine, the Devil hates us and is trying to lead us away from God, the world is not our true home and, if we truly are followers of Christ, we will find purpose and happiness in doing our Father’s will – Jesus provided ‘the roadmap’ but we have to be willing to sacrifice our will to faithfully do our Father’s will. It is a simple, scripturally supported presentation of ‘the gospel truth’ in a minimal number of pages – it presumes no prior knowledge but also encourages deeper enquiry if the reader is inclined to do so. It’s aim is simple, follow Jesus! If you could suggest an agent that could be interested I would be very grateful, God bless you,
Hi Chris, I really don’t know enough about each agent to make a recommendation, but your book sounds very interesting. I’m sure it could be a good match for any of the agents interested in nonfiction Christian literature. You can learn more about each by checking out their submission guidelines.
Hi, I’ve written a novel about the relationship of a Monk and a wild-child raised by the animals. It deals with the higher beauty and wonder possible as God and humanity become one again. It is creatively free and does not fit in traditional boxes, but rather deals with the essence of super alive reality tradition codified. Do you have any suggestions?
Hi Blake, I don’t know enough about each to suggest a specific agent, but you’ll want to check out their guidelines/wishlists and probably look for any that gravitate toward less traditional Christian/spiritual fiction.
My novel is about the two disciples who accompanied Christ on the road to Emmaus. It’s about the events of the preceding days, their sense of loss and mixed emotions they felt toward the mysterious stranger. He taught them everything about the Messiah with an understanding, intimacy and enthusiasm they’d never experienced before. He exhibited a love of life unlike anyone they’d ever met. The journey, and the conclusion, transformed them.
That sounds very interesting, Ed. I’m sure you’ll find an agent on this list who would be interested :)
My 70+ year old mother keeps telling me she’s writing a book. I think it’s more writing down everything that has happened to her a a child. Think 100% worse then Mommy Dearest. Terrible sexual, physical & mental abuse. I really think she needs to get her story out there, but have no clue how to do this. She may need a ghost writer. Always says the Good Lord protected her for years. Any information would be helpful. We live in Missouri.
Hi Tina, sounds like your mom might be working on a Christian memoir? We have a list of ghostwriters here that we are working to expand: https://www.tckpublishing.com/ghostwriting-service/. Would your mom be interested in self-publishing or working with a traditional publisher?
I have written and published a book on encouragement through Christ. The two different publishers deliver what they promises. I’ve spent a large portion of our retirement and have a closet with a lot of books to show for it. I need an agent and so far, I am learning another lesson to write about.
Hi Charles, I’m sorry to hear you didn’t have a great experience. Working with an agent can help, and also make sure to thoroughly research publishers before signing a contract. This list has options for both fiction and nonfiction, I hope you find some who might be a fit for you!
Hello,
I do not want to self-publish so I am looking for an agent to work with. I am the author/CEO of two educational companies and my time is limited. I have written a Christian mystery for young teens. Its theme main theme is overcoming odds and becoming stronger for them; to learn how to accept and include others not like us. It has an innocent romance. It is about family and Christian values and teens navigating school, friendships, and overcoming adversity.
Hi Charlene, I don’t know enough about each agent to suggest a specific one, but as you go through this list I would focus on the ones that are looking for fiction with your story’s themes(romance, family, teens, etc. :)
I’m looking into publishing my book. I have tried to push it to the back of my mind many many times thinking I’m not good enough to write but I feel a calling from my heavenly father to keep going. It weighs heavy on my mind to push forward with it. Its an autobiographic story, hopefully it will inspire women at a crossroads, the same crossroad I found myself at. I just need a little push in the right direction
Hi Christiana, thanks for sharing your story! If you feel called to do this, you should definitely get your story out there :) there are many options, including self-publishing. You might also find this post on ditching your limiting beliefs insightful :) best of luck and please let us know if you ever have any questions about writing or publishing!
This list is VERY outdated, even wrong. Who put this list together?
http://christianliteraryagency.com <- this site is shuttered.
https://www.spencerhillassociates.com/submissions <- erotic fiction? Not very Christian!!!
Hi Richard, thanks for bringing that to our attention. I’ll work on updating the list. At the time it was published, that agency was probably accepting Christian literature along with other genres.
Hello!
I am looking for an agent for a book of devotions. I did not set out to be an author. Many people encouraged me to pursue publishing after they were blessed by the prayers. This is all so new to me, I’d appreciate any advise. Thank you!
Hi Judy, thanks for your comment! I can’t really advise you to a specific agent, but if you browse through their guidelines I’m sure you’ll find some who are looking for devotionals. You can also check this list of Christian publishers, some accept unagented submissions: https://www.tckpublishing.com/christian-publishers/
My wife and i authored our first book and had it self-published. It launched on November 20, 2018. The title is “In the Blink of an Eye: Forgiveness in Black and White.” A feature length movie was filmed based on the book and released to theaters earlier this year in the midst of the pandemic. The movie is titled after our ministry, My Brothers’ Crossing. We never set out to be authors. We never set out to produce a movie through our ministry, BUT GOD. Those who have read our book or seen the movie are encouraging us to continue and do more. It has all been overwhelming. We have invested everything into our ministry and these efforts and don’t really know where to go with the next steps. Suggestions?
Hi JT, thanks for sharing your story! It sounds like you’ve already had quite a lot of success, so congratulations on all your efforts. I’d say the next steps are really up to you — if you have a passion and are excited about what you could do with more books (and potential film adaptations), then I’d say go for it. You can enlist the help of literary agents or other publishers, rather than self-publishing, to take some of the work off your shoulders. But if you’re feeling tired, overwhelmed, and not really up for those projects, I’d think carefully before starting. You don’t want to end up giving so much of your time and resources on a project your heart isn’t in.
May I ask which publisher you used to self-publish your book and which company made it into a movie? I’m guessing you had to pay up-front money for the book. Did you also for the movie? Have you re-couped the money you have invested. Many published authors say they could wall paper their house with rejection letters before finally getting their book accepted. So, you might go the route of finding an agent to get your book published.
I am looking for an agent to help me with my new nonfiction Christian book “Answering the Call To Be A Parish Nurse: Heightened By A Pandemic.” I have the support and excitement of my national/international parish nurse organization. My first book was “Wake Up Call 911: It’s Time to Reduce Your Risk for a Heart Attack and Stroke (2015). Is anyone interested in working with me?
Hi Jennie, you may want to try checking the guidelines for each, then send query letters to the ones you like and who are looking for nonfiction :)
Hi there, I’m looking for literary agents for Christian Children’s Books and am struggling to find such a list. Any help would be so appreciated.
Hi Leah, if you browse the links on this page, I’m sure you’ll find some agents who are interested in Christian Children’s books as well :) Or, you could check out our post on children’s literary agents (https://www.tckpublishing.com/childrens-book-literary-agents/) . There might be some who are interested in books with a Christian focus :)
I have been writing a trilogy of Christian Fantasy books, but they are unique in dealing with the tougher questions about coming to faith, and addressing darker topics not normally found in typical Christian Fantasy.
Looking through the list of publishers, I didn’t see any that may fit this particular type of fantasy. If I were to sign with a publisher, are there any that would accept this type of criteria? Should I self publish instead?
Hi Max, if you see some from this list that are interested in fantasy, I would still contact them and tell them in more detail about your manuscript and see how they respond. They might be open to it. Or, you could check our list of fantasy literary agents and see if any are interested in books with a Christian angle (https://www.tckpublishing.com/literary-agents-accepting-science-fiction-and-fantasy-submissions/). If you still don’t have any luck, self-publishing is definitely an option and many people in that situation find success going their own route.
I am looking for an agent who would help get published a Historical/Theological book on English Baptists and Anabaptists History and Doctrine. Any specific agent you could recommend?
Hi Dan, I don’t know any off the top of my head, but if you browse through the submission guidelines on this list you might find some that could be a good match. Or, you could check out our list of nonfiction literary agents as well, if your book is history-focused (https://www.tckpublishing.com/nonfiction-literary-agents/). I hope this helps!
I am looking for an author who would interested in publishing a theological book that looks at the bible in light of 15 stories or more specifically, weeks like genesis and passion weeks. These 15 weeks moves the story of the bible forward in light of revelation, redemption, reconciliation, resurrection and kingdom. all these weeks mirror the passion week which is the paradigm week. Jesus is the paradigm worker.
Hi Robert, thanks for your comment! I’m sure there are at least a few on this list that could be a good match for your idea :)
I’m looking for an agent for Christian Plays. Please let me know which agency handles Christian plays. Thank you
Hi Stephanie, I went through the list and couldn’t find any that say they’re looking for plays. A few specify that they don’t want scripts or screenplays. You might still contact a few just to ask :) I also found this Christian publisher looking for plays: https://www.christianpub.com/default.aspx?pg=ag
I’m looking for an agent that doesn’t get paid until the author gets paid. There are too many Vanity” presses out there that would be happy to publish anything as long as you give them money.
Thanks for your comment! Most agencies on this list that don’t charge upfront fees for their services, but take a commission for the sale of rights. Similarly, reputable publishers don’t charge fees, but take a certain amount of royalties. At TCK, for example, we charge no fees but split royalties 50/50 with our authors.
I write in a Fantasy type genre that always has Christian themes/morals woven into the stories. I’m having a very difficult time finding an agent who works with this kind of material. Is there anyone out there who knows where I should be inquiring?
Hi Lisa, since the themes are just interwoven and not the main focus, I would focus your efforts on querying fantasy agents. Even if they haven’t worked on stories specifically like yours, they might still be interested since it sounds like it’s primarily a fantasy book.
Hello,
I have written something that I think is a unique take on the debate between theism and atheism. Realizing there are is no shortage of Christian apologists who already work diligently to defend religious doctrine and reconcile perceived Biblical problems, rather than doing this, I have written a manuscript in which I demonstrate that if one applies the same degree of skepticism to atheism as any other proposition, it becomes untenable, as atheism (across its spectrum) requires that one who dismisses one claim because of insufficient evidence instead accept some other claim despite there being insufficient evidence. Is there a specific publisher that you could suggest as being a particularly good fit for a book of that nature?
